Meg and Blair invited us down to The Grove in West Palm Beach. Two workshops, amazing food, and a weekend that reminded us why we do this.
This was our first retreat outside of Toronto. Kat, Ronnie, Cece (TikTok Queen and GM ๐ค๐ผ) and Hoda (Marketing and Events๐ค) headed to West Palm Beach as guests of Meg and Blair, our partners in wellness and beauty. They know how to host. We took notes.
The Grove set the tone immediately. Lush, warm and unhurried. Yoga mats on the grass in the morning, laptops in the sun in the afternoon. The kind of setting where you think more clearly and talk more honestly. We came to connect and we came to teach.
NIGHT ONE
WORKSHOP 01
The Slumber Party.
Masking as ritual.
Face masks on, hair masks in, fireside chat energy. Part ask-me-anything, part girl talk, part education.
We covered scalp literacy, multi-masking and the skinnification of hair. The idea that your scalp deserves the same care as your skin, and that masking is not a rescue mission for a bad hair day. It is a ritual. Something you do before you need to.
The room got quiet in the best way.
NIGHT TWO
WORKSHOP 02
BYOB.
Bring Your Own Blowdryer.
Our signature workshop. Everyone brought their own tools. Kat and Ronnie brought the Dysons and Amika brushes. Goodie bags went out: Oi shampoo, conditioner , Ash Wednesday to finish.
We covered blowdryer basics, round brush 101, Airwrap vs. hot brushes, damage prevention and the psychology of heat styling as a treatment.
The premise is simple. You already own the tools. A salon blowout is a technique, not a secret. They know that now.
"A salon blowout is a technique, not a secret. They know that now."
THE REST OF IT
Between workshops it was exactly what a first retreat should be. Movement in the mornings, meals that went long and conversations that actually felt meaningful.
Girl bonding, movement and beauty. Those three things belong together more often than they get to be.
WHAT COMES NEXT
BYOB is coming to Toronto this May. West Palm Beach was the proof of concept. Toronto is the launch. Find your blowdryer. You are about to get a lot more out of it.
